Uploader responsibility
Users must have the rights, licenses, permissions, or lawful basis needed to upload and publish material. Tale Ledger may remove or disable access to content when a credible rights complaint is received and may restrict repeat infringers.
Submitting a copyright notice
To help Tale Ledger locate and evaluate a claim, provide a written notice containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or that of an authorized representative.
- Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if several works are involved.
- The exact Tale Ledger public asset URL and enough information to locate the challenged material.
- Your name and reasonable contact information, including an email address and, when appropriate, mailing address and telephone number.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Email the notice with the subject “Copyright Notice.” Do not attach unrelated sensitive documents.
What happens next
Tale Ledger may acknowledge the report, disable public delivery while it is reviewed, notify the uploader, request clarification, preserve relevant records, remove the material, or restore it when the complaint is resolved. A hosted image may remain unavailable during review.
Disputing a removal
An uploader who believes content was removed because of mistake or misidentification may contact support with the asset identifier, an explanation, their contact information, and evidence of authorization or lawful use. Tale Ledger may request the formal statements and consent required for a statutory counter-notice before restoration.
Copyright disputes can involve legal rights Tale Ledger cannot adjudicate. Parties should seek qualified legal advice where appropriate.
Repeat infringement
In appropriate circumstances, Tale Ledger may suspend or terminate hosted publishing for users who repeatedly infringe rights or repeatedly submit clearly unauthorized material. Local campaign data is not remotely deleted by a hosted-publishing suspension.
